what’s up friends!! I have almost unearthed myself from being out of the office for paternity break…. almost… if you are reading this and still waiting on a message from me, I PROMISE I WILL GET THERE.
one of the things I’ve been figuring out with 2 kids now is that every minute of my day is precious. I’ve been trying to figure out for a while now how to optimize my day/weeks. do I use pen and paper for a to-do list? do I take those to-dos then plug them into my calendar? do I use google tasks? it’s really been something I’ve wrestled with. I also have a pretty strict morning routine and find myself at the end of the day going ‘what have I done all day’ so i saw this guy (jt barnett on instagram) post about creating a separate calendar with your ‘ideal’ day. i.e. everything you do outside of work. which made people really freak out because it looks like this…
now this DEFINITELY isn’t for everyone, I’m 2 days into this and already see the effects of keeping me on task. here’s what works for me: I use siri/apple to-do’s throughout the day, especially if I am away from my computer and document what I need to-do. then in the morning I plug my to-dos in my ‘open block’ spots. SO I really have 3 google calendars going— I have my work, personal, and then my ‘ideal day’. give it a shot! it may help you more than you think :)
